Dutch Square (popularly known as Red Square) are the Christ Church, Queen Victoria's Fountain, and Malacca Clock Tower. They are painted a salmon red color. It was built between 1741 and 1753. It replaced a Portuguese church, which was shattered. Bricks were shipped from Zeeland in the Netherlands. On the floor of the church you will find Dutch tombstones.

Interestingly the building used to be white, but after the English got control of Melaka the building were painted this colour. I think they probably thought, what colour would piss the Dutch off the most?

This is the remanates

The waterwheel is said to have been used during the hey days of the Malacca Malay Sultanate era. It was used to transport water from the river to marine vessels which called on the Melaka Port.

A little bit of the homeland!
